This explains what Sceene collects when you organize or attend an event, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it removed. We sell nothing to advertisers and we don't run ad tracking.
01What we collect
From organizers:
- Your phone number, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Your name, profile photo, bio and social links, if you add them.
- Your events — titles, descriptions, cover art, venues, ticket tiers and capacity.
- Payout and settlement records for the money your events earn.
From guests:
- Your name and email, so we can send your ticket.
- Your phone number, where the organizer asks for it.
- Answers to any custom registration questions the organizer added.
- Your ticket status — booked, checked in, refunded — and when you were scanned in.
Automatically, we collect basic technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and error reports when something crashes. We use this to keep the service working and to stop abuse.
We also count page views on public event pages, so organizers can see how many people opened their link. That count is anonymous: your IP and browser are turned into a one-way hash that changes every day and can't be reversed or traced back to you. We don't store your IP against a view, we don't follow you across events or days, and organizers only ever see totals.
We never see or store your full card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials — those go directly to our payment processor.
02Why we use it
- To run the service: creating events, selling tickets, sending QR passes, checking guests in.
- To take payments and settle your payouts.
- To send transactional messages — sign-in codes, tickets, receipts, and updates an organizer sends about their event.
- To keep things safe: spotting fraud, abuse and payment risk.
- To fix problems and improve the product, using aggregate usage and crash data.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
03What organizers see
When you buy a ticket, the organizer of that event receives your name, email, any details their registration form asked for, and your check-in status — they need it to run the door and contact you about the event. They can export it. Organizers are responsible for how they handle that data, and they may not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent. If you only visited an event page without registering, the organizer sees nothing about you — just that their page was opened once more.
04Who else processes it
We use a small set of vendors, each only for what they do:
- Razorpay — payment processing and payouts.
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Resend — sending tickets, receipts and organizer updates by email.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the site.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising. We may disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
05Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in from working.
06How long we keep it
Account and event data stays while your account is open. Records tied to payments, tickets and refunds are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically several years, even after an account closes. Crash logs are kept for a short retention window and then deleted.
07Your choices
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — fix anything wrong, from your profile or by emailing us.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and data, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
- Unsubscribe — opt out of an organizer's event updates from any email they send. Sign-in codes, tickets and receipts aren't marketing, so those keep coming while your account is active.
Email godiandrewwilson@gmail.com and we'll action a request within 30 days.
08Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is limited to people who need it, and sign-in uses one-time codes rather than stored passwords. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach ever affects your data, we'll tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
09Children
Sceene isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll remove it.
10Changes
We'll update this page as the product changes, and the date at the top will always show the current version. Material changes will be flagged in the app or by email.
